Marconi, Henryk

Henrik Marconi ( Polish. Henryk Marconi , Italian. Enrico Marconi ; January 7, 1792 , Rome - February 21, 1863 , Warsaw ) - Polish architect of Italian origin, since 1822 he worked in Poland and Ukraine , one of the greatest Polish architects of the first half of the XIX century .

Biography

Initially he studied under the leadership of his father Leandra Marconi ( 1763 - 1837 ), later in 1806 - 1810 at the same time at the University and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna . 1811 appointed teacher of drawing at a high school in Lugo . In Poland, he was invited by General Ludwig Michal Pats to complete the palace in Dovspudi. From 1827, he held a position in the Industry and Commerce Department of the Government Commission on Internal Affairs and Public Education, in 1851-1858 he was a teacher at the Warsaw Academy of Arts. After closing the institution taught at least another 10 years.

Family

Henrik had a younger brother Ferrante Marconi ( 1798 - 1868 ), who also arrived in Warsaw after training in Bologna . He married the daughter of the gardener Count Paz, Scottish Margarita Gayton ( 1807 - 1884 ). Gayton was a Calvinist and therefore some of the children in the family were raised as Catholics, and others as Calvinists.

Sons:

Karl Anthony Marconi ( 1826 - 1864 ) painter, graphic artist; Vladislav Marconi ( 1848 - 1915 ) architect, conservative; Henrik Marconi ( 1842 - 1920 ) engineer-technologist, industrialist; Leandro Jan Marconi ( 1834 - 1919 ) architect. Heinrich Marconi himself was buried at the Powонzki cemetery , while his wife, daughter, and sons Henryk, Jan and Wladyslaw in the Evangelical cemetery in Warsaw .

Neo- style

  • Palace Paz in Dovspudi. Construction began in 1820, the Italian architect Peter barefoot. On the construction of foundations in 1823 the project was redesigned by Henrik Marconi. Completed construction in 1827 . Today, only the gate and one tower are preserved.
  • Built in 1841, the stone stable for the best horses with an arena, as well as the stable of "Zegarova" in Jan Podlaski.
