Maxim from Asia Minor
Death
In the face

Maxim lived in Asia Minor and was a wealthy merchant. At that time, Emperor Decius Trajan issued an order for the obligatory worship of pagan gods, threatening to execute him for renouncing them. Maxim, who was in Rome at that time, was called by the consul Optim. He ordered him to make a sacrifice to the goddess Diana , but Maxim refused, because he was a Christian.

He was tortured on the rack and beaten with sticks because he did not want to renounce his faith. As a result, he was stoned outside the city walls [2] .
