The first World Peace Congress was held in 1949 in Paris and Prague . The emblem of this congress was painted by Pablo Picasso , it depicts a white dove carrying an olive branch in its beak. But the expression itself and the image of the dove of the world appeared much earlier. The expression goes back to the Biblical story of a dove bringing Noah a branch of olive in the ark ( Genesis 8: 10-11) [1] .
