Career

Club career

Lee Te made his debut in 1992 in the Liaoning football team, played for the reserve team. The following season, he was sent from the youth team " Shenzhen Jianlibiao " to study in Brazil , where he spent five years. As a result, Lee became the captain of the Jianlibiao youth team.

Under the player training program and sponsorship agreements between the Chinese company Kejian ( Eng. Kejian ) and the English Premier League, the player got into Everton . Despite skepticism in relation to the player at the first stage, he showed himself from a good side, and Everton's coach David Moyes released Lee in 31 games, and quite often he was the basis. Lee played the midfield and second striker, and the team managed to take 7th place in the season.

After a successful debut in England, his former club “ Liaoning ” joined the race for the player, from which he retired to Everton in England. However, after the 2002–2003 season, Lee on the checkbox signed a three-year contract with Everton in August, the approximate amount of the deal was £ 0.5– £ 1.5 million, although part of the expenses were covered by the sponsor. Season 2003-04 was overshadowed by the removal of a player in a match with Arsenal in the same August, as well as a series of injuries. The last injury - a broken leg - was received in a match for the national team in February 2004, and the player again lost his playing practice for 12 months. In January 2005, Lee returned to the team and played in a match with reservists " Bolton ". The player played only 41 minutes and again he felt pain in his leg. In the summer of 2005, 18 months after the last match for the main team of Everton, Lee played 90 minutes as part of the pre-season preparation in a friendly match against the Austrian Gamlitz team. He also took part in other matches in the framework of the preseason and seemed to have fully recovered. However, Lee did not pass to the main team, and his games were limited to matches for the reserve team. It also did not help the fact that the national team coaches again began to attract Lee to the matches. In March 2006, the player again had an operation.

In May 2006, Everton terminated the contract, and in July, sheffield United announced the signing of a two-year contract with a player who became a free agent [1] . Prior to the resolution of the visa extension formalities, Lee trained with the Chinese League representative Jia-A " Chengdu Blades ", which was owned by Sheffield United. Since the beginning of January 2004, the first game was played at the Football League Cup on September 19, 2006, when its new team hosted Bury . The speech did not help the player to get into the main part. On October 12, 2007, Lee Te announced his plans to stop cooperating with the “blades” and that he could quit as a free agent. Sheffield coach Brian Robson said: “He’s not in my plans and can go where he wants as a free agent.” Two days later, Sheffield did not confirm the words of the coach and announced that Lee would remain in the team until the end of the season until his future became clear. [2]

Despite assurances, Lee joined the Sheffield Farm Club in China, Chengdu Blades to strengthen the team and fight for access to the Super League . In the 2008 season, he first came out in a match against the former Liaoning team [3] . The first goal in the “Chengdu” scored in October in the game against “ Shenzhen Shangqingin ”, and his team won with a score of 3-1 [4] .

After spending the season at Chengdu, Li returned to his homeland, where he joined his first Liaoning team and helped her reach the Super League. The achievement for the team was to return to the elite immediately the next season after relegation to the second division. At the end of the 2011 season, Lee Te announced his retirement.

International Career

For the first time, Lee Te was invited to the national team by head coach Qi Wusheng in 1997, along with three other players of the Shenzhen Jianlibiao youth team (except for him, Jiuyu , Sui Dongliang and Zhang Xiaozhui were called ) and played in the final part of the qualifying tournament for the 1998 World Cup years . Thus, at the 2002 World Championship for China , Li was already a veteran of the national team. Despite the recovery period after injuries, the player reappeared in the Chinese team in June 2006 , coming on as a substitute in matches with Switzerland and France . I also called up for a friendly match against the Thai team (August 10, 2006) and the qualifying match for the Asian Cup in 2007 against Singapore (August 16, 2006). Called to the national team under the new coach Zhu Guanghu for the final of the Asian Cup in 2007 , but did not participate in the matches at the tournament.
