Paloyoensuu ( fin. Palojoensuu , s.-Saami. Bálojotnjälbmi ) is a village in northwestern Finland in the community of Enontekio . It is located on the border with Sweden , at the confluence of the Paloyoki River in Muonionjoki .

The administrative center of the community, the village of Hetta , is located 26 km to the east along the main road number 93. During the time of the Lapland War of 1944-45, the surroundings of the village were the site of fierce battles between Finnish and German troops. Paloyoensuu was completely burned by the Germans.
