Content
Biography
Orthodox. From the nobility of St. Petersburg province. The son of the heraldmeister Count Leonid Mikhailovich Muravyov (1821-1881) and his second wife, Sophia Nikolaevna Orzhitskaya.
He graduated from the Page Corps (1887), was released from the pages in the second lieutenants of the Life Guards Preobrazhensky Regiment . He entered the reserve of guards infantry with the rank of lieutenant . In 1895 he was appointed Uman county leader of the nobility.
Ranks: College Counselor (1901), State Counselor (1905), State Counselor (1906), Jägermeister (1913), Privy Councilor (1916). In 1909 he was bestowed with the title of "Jägermeister."
He held the posts of Tomsk (1899-1901), Vologda (1901-1902), Tauride (1902-1907) and Ryazan (1907-1908) vice-governors . In October 1908 he was appointed Poltava governor, in February 1913 - Moscow.
In 1916 he was appointed senator .
After the revolution he emigrated to Belgium. He died in 1940 in Brussels.
Family
Since 1892 he was married to Olga Nikolaevna Novoselskaya. Their kids:
- Elena (1893-1968), married to Mikhail Mikhailovich Osorgin (1887-1950). Founder of St. Sergius Compound [1] .
