About the album
Between Unchained and American III: Solitary Man , Johnny Cash's health deteriorated due to many diseases, in particular pneumonia . With this album, the musician gave an answer to his illnesses by performing songs such as “I Won't Back Down Down” by Tom Petty and “ One ” by U2 . Other successful songs on American III were Nick Cave 's The Mercy Seat (Throne of Mercy) and, in fact, Solitary Man (Lonely Man) Neil Diamond , for the performance of which Johnny received a Grammy. Despite mediocre reviews from publications such as LA Weekly and Rolling Stone, American III has a rating of 80 out of 100 on the Metacritic website, indicating "universal acceptance." [3]
