Archeology
The district of the village of Shekshovo is one of those areas of the Suzdal Opolie, where in the 19th century, expeditions of Count Uvarov began the study of ancient Russian burial mounds. In the area of the village there is a large medieval village Shekshovo 2 with an area of about 30 hectares. In 2011, during a study of the remains of the medieval burial mound Shekshovo 9 (in the vicinity of the village of Shekshovo 2), a ceremonial hatchet with traces of silver inlay was found, severely damaged by corrosion. During restoration, for the first time for such finds, the signs of the Rurikovich were discovered: a two-prong and a trident [9] . After a detailed study of the find, it was suggested that the formal hatchet belonged to the retinue of the Rostov prince Boris Vladimirovich [10] . Two Byzantine miliarisia were found in Shekshovo [11] .
