It begins on the slope of the Vladimirovka mountain in a pine forest east of the railway station Tsapko [3] . Flows south along the reed ridge [4] . It falls into the Sea of Okhotsk [3] .
The Poronaysk - Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk motorways and railways pass along the river [4] [3] .
It flows through the territory of the Makarov urban district of the Sakhalin region [5] .
The main tributaries are Svetovka (lv), Petrovka (pr) [4] , Orekhovka, Woodward, Ocher (all - lv), Moza, Duet (both - pr) [3] .
