History
Tyumen Truth Today
The newspaper arose as a result of the conflict between the governor of the Tyumen region L. Yu. Roketskiy and the governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Yu. V. Neyolov over the autonomy of the autonomous regions, which affected the team of the region’s oldest and most popular newspaper in terms of circulation. The south of the region and autonomous okrugs were co-founders of the publication, the newspaper in the conflict of governors supported L. Yu. Roketskogo, therefore it lost financial support to the autonomous okrugs. Against the background of financial difficulties, the newspaper in the summer of 1998 resigned as editor-in-chief, V. S. Gorbachev , who had headed the Tyumen Truth for 15 years before [1] .
In October of that year, Governor L. Yu. Roketskiy took the initiative to create a newspaper that would belong only to the government of the Tyumen region, without the participation of autonomous okrugs. V. S. Gorbachev, who became the general director of the Tyumen Regional Information Agency (TRIA) created by the Roketskiy State Unitary Enterprise of the Tyumen Region, responded to this proposal. The agency established the newspaper Tyumen Truth Today, which began to appear with the logo of the so-called Thursday issue of Tyumen Truth. Also, V. S. Gorbachev lured the most-read journalists from his former newspaper [1] . The first time between the "Tyumen truth" and V. S. Gorbachev was an information war [2] .
In 1998, only the signal numbers of the newspaper were published [1] , the first issue was born on October 30 [3] . Since December 10, 1998, she came out three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday), from January 1, 2000 she became daily [4] .
Given the circumstances of its appearance, the newspaper could not stand aside in the conflict of the south of the region and the autonomous okrugs [5] . When in 2001 the “northern” candidate S. S. Sobyanin replaced L. Yu. Roketskiy in the governor’s chair, changes in the newspaper followed. The first editor, V. S. Gorbachev, resigned; in July 2001, the Tyumen Oblast State Institution “Tyumen Truth Today” was established instead of the TRIA state unitary enterprise; the Information Policy Department of the Tyumen Region (now the Department of Public Relations, Communications and Youth) was its founder policy of the Tyumen region).
Under the current name
On February 7, 2002, Alexander Skorbenko was appointed editor-in-chief of the newspaper. On June 19, the newspaper was renamed “Tyumen Oblast Today” [4] . In 2006, the trademark for the logo of the publication was registered in the State Register of Trademarks and Service Marks of the Russian Federation.
During this period, the publication is in constant creative search. The newspaper has become full-color, electronic types of subscription have been introduced [4] . The publication managed to dramatically increase its audience (circulation has risen from 5 thousand copies in 1999 to 50 thousand copies now [4] ). A TNS Gallup National Readership Survey (December 2005 – October 2006 ) showed that on average 9% of Tyumen citizens over the age of 16 read each issue [6] . The popularity of the newspaper is also evidenced by the fact that it receives up to 10 thousand readers' letters a year - sent by regular mail [5] .
