Château d'Eruville ( French Château d'Hérouville - castle in Herouville ) is an 18th-century French castle located in the village of Herouville , Val d'Oise , near Paris . The castle was built in 1740 by the architect of the Roman school of Godot ( fr. Gaudot ). In the XIX century, it was used as a station (between Versailles and Beauvais ) and served as a stable for one hundred horses [1] [2] .

The French composer Michel Man bought it in 1962, Man reconstructed part of the castle and opened a spacious recording studio equipped with the most modern equipment. After a fire that devastated the left wing of the building in 1969, Man reconstructed part of the castle and opened a spacious recording studio equipped with the most modern equipment, which opened on November 27, 1969. All other premises were converted into living rooms, kitchens and even sports halls and pools. Around the castle was a beautiful park with a tennis court, where flower beds were fragrant [3] .

The musician, director and sound engineer Laurent Thibaut took over the management of the studio in June 1974 [4] .

In 1979, the studio was put up for auction. Michel Man was accused of tax fraud. Litigation in this case went on for several years and ended in December 1984 not in favor of the composer. During the movement of bulky studio equipment, several internal partitions of the castle were destroyed [3] . The studio was closed on July 25, 1985, a year after the death of Michel Many. [4] During the studio’s work, the castle recorded many albums of famous artists such as Elton John ( Honky Château in 1972, Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in 1973), Pink Floyd ( Obscured by Clouds , 1972), David Bowie ( Pin Ups , 1973), Bee Gees (" How Deep Is Your Love " and " Stayin 'Alive " from Saturday Night Fever 's 1977 album).
