Barrikadnaya Street is a street in the Southern village in the Kommunarsky district of Zaporizhia , located near Zaporozhye-1 station [3] [4] . The length of the street is 3.3 km [5] The street got its name in honor of the barricade battles of the Alexander proletariat in 1905 [6] .

Previously called the Hospital since the hospital for the wounded, deployed during the Crimean War, was located nearby. At the hospital, Nikolai Pirogov operated at one time [7] . Later there was a feldsher school on the street.
Barricades
The workers ’battle with the gendarmes, government troops and the Black Hundreds took place on December 14, 1905. Some of the workers took refuge on the second floor of the unfinished house of Minaev (Lenin Avenue, 6) and from there fired on the Black Hundreds. The last stronghold of the rebels was the building of the South Railway Station . During the 6-hour battle, about 50 people were killed and wounded. In memory of the workers who died in 1930, according to the decision of the Zaporizhzhya regional executive committee, an obelisk with the inscription: “To the fighters of the revolution of 1905-1907. 1905-1930” was installed on a mass grave (in a park on Barrikadnaya street) [8] .

On Barrikadnaya street there is a comprehensive school of 1-3 levels No. 83 [9] , plant management of the Zaporizhzhya mechanical plant [10] .
On the street Barrikadnoy is the grave of Private Yermolin who died in World War II [11] .
