Viiviconna

Vivikonna ( est. Viivikonna ) is a village in Estonia , a former urban area of ​​the city of Kohtla-Järve [2] in the northeast of Ida-Virumaa county . Since 2017, transferred to the jurisdiction of the municipality of Narva-Jõesuu .

It is located at a great distance from the rest of Kohtla-Järve, about 25 km east of the center of this city and at the same distance from Narva-Jõesuu.

It is located 8 kilometers south-west of the railway station (on the Tallinn - Narva line ), within the boundaries of Vaivara Volost , which was abolished in 2017 .

Administratively, until 2017, the district of Sirgala , which later became a separate village within Narva-Jõesuu , was located near Viivikonna .

The settlement began to be built in 1935-1936 near the shale mine. Year of formation of the urban-type settlement 1950 [1] . Viivikonna became part of Kohtla-Järve in 1960 . At present, it is in a strong decline: more than half of the houses are empty, and only two objects of industry remain - the sawmill and the metallurgical building.
