Biography
In 1997 he graduated from the philological faculty of Moscow State University. M. V. Lomonosov .
In January 2004, at the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences under the direction of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor O. Yu. Vasilyeva, he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences on the theme “Church Underground of the 1920–1940s in the USSR in the Context of State-Church Relations ,
Since 2004 he has been working at the Center for the History of Religion and Church of the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences , teaching at secular and church schools.
Since 2012 - member of the editorial board of the quarterly scientific journal " State, religion, church in Russia and abroad ."
Scientific Activities
Area of scientific interests: the history of Russia (USSR) of the XX century, state-church relations in Russia, the history of the Russian Orthodox Church in the XIX-XX centuries and the Russian ascetic tradition of the XIX-XX centuries, the social dimension of religiosity and its deformation under the influence of state policy.
Published since 1996, documents of the secret monastic communities of the Soviet period. He prepared for the publication of the book of Ignatius (Puzik), Stariness in Russia (1999) and Starost in the Year of Persecution (2001), collection “The Path to a Perfect Life: On Russian Starchestvo” (2005).
One of the authors of the book “Russian Orthodox Church. XX Century ”(Moscow: Sretensky Monastery, 2008), author of more than 70 works and publications in scientific, popular publications and on the Internet.
He is engaged in research on the phenomenon of the “ catacomb church, ” to which the monograph “In Search of“ Sinless Catacombs ”, published in 2008, was devoted. Church underground in the USSR " [1] .
