Biography
He graduated from high school in Rivne . In 1861 he entered the law faculty of Kiev University. St. Vladimir
Member of the January uprising in 1863 in Poland. After the start of the uprising, he crossed the Austrian border and went to Galicia , where he joined the armed detachment of Wojciech Komorowski, who attacked the territory of the Volyn province, had clashes with the Cossacks and briefly took Porytsk (now the village of Pavlovka of the Ivanichevsky district in the Volyn region.
For participation in the January 1863 uprising, he was arrested by the Austrian authorities and was imprisoned in Brody , escaped from prison and emigrated to France.
Y. Khamets was a relative of E. Hansky - the wife of Honore de Balzac .
In 1865, bought an estate near Paris . He actively participated in the literary and artistic life of French society.
