History
In connection with the construction of a pulp and paper mill at the site of the Padali camp, the construction of Amursk began. It was necessary to relocate the population to a new place of residence. And by decision of the government, the camp was moved to the shore of Lake Ommi . During the year, construction teams delivered residential buildings, a school, a shop, a club, a bakery, a stable, and a village council building.
In April 1959, a hasty resettlement of the Nanai from the East Padal to the village of New Ommi began. Relocated 65 families.
The Omma Village Council was established on November 19, 1959. On the territory of the village council was "Kolkhoz" North "." Collective farmers engaged in fishing, grew various vegetables, contained cattle, pigs, horses.
From the mid-1970s to the 1990s. In the village there was a subsidiary farm of the Amur Engineering Plant, in which a significant part of the population was employed. The subsidiary farm was focused on raising cattle and pigs for factory workers. In the 1980s built and put into operation two multifamily comfortable houses.
In connection with the reduction of the AMZ defense order, the subsidiary farm was liquidated. Currently, a large part of the working-age population is left without work, they survive only due to their personal subsidiary farming, fishing and gathering of wild-growing plants .
