Nano Art - (from Latin nano - “billionth of a meter”, from English art - “art”) is a visual art form directed by artists to create “ sculptures of micro- and nanoscale under the influence of chemical or physical processes of processing materials, photographing obtained nano images using an electron microscope and processing black-and-white photographs in a graphic editor (for example, Adobe Photoshop ).

Creation History
Its creator is Chris Orfescu , a Romanian scientist and artist living in the USA . Chris has always been interested in nanotechnology as the most modern science . Almost 30 years ago during the study, he was so struck by the structure and intricacies of matter in his tiny particle that he began to explore the depths of the interaction of art, science and technology, as a result, art of a new kind - NanoArt, was born.
The most important object of this trend in art was the image of matter. Through the development of nanotechnology, you can now easily look into the deep layer of substances, which has become the subject of creative inspiration for many artists. Their creations are molecular and atomic landscapes that are unusually amazing in their beauty and unusualness (“a form of the natural structures of substances”), as well as nano-sculptures (“the result of manipulations with matter at the molecular and atomic levels using physical and chemical processes ”). Such works can be observed both at nanotechnology exhibitions and in museums of modern fine art.
Terminology and Style Features
Nano Art is a visual art form in which nano-sculptures and nanoscapes can be distinguished.
Nano Art is a 3D art that conveys the atmosphere of a painting through color and volume - the main means of expression of Nano Art.
You cannot equate the art of photography with Nano Art. Photographic images are created by photons , and the Nano Art image is created by electrons that penetrate the deep structures of the material. Nano Art’s paintings are so vivid that they resemble the work of abstract artists , however, they cannot be attributed to abstract art, since the main criterion for Abstract art was renunciation and refusal to depict the real world , real things and events, and they are digital images of true things . In Nano Art you can see a wide palette of styles. Rather, the pseudo-styles that we are used to seeing in painting: realism , symbolism and abstract art.
Style Technique
The process of creating a work of Nano Art, its technique can be represented as follows: artists create sculptures (compositions) of micro- and nano-sizes under the influence of chemical or physical processes of processing materials, photographing the resulting mini-images using an electron microscope and processing black and white photos in a graphical editor . Using a scanning electron microscope, imprints of sections of solids, black-and-white images are processed on a computer , add color to the complex structure of the material. Special depth and three-dimensionality of the image can be achieved using the Digital Faux technique - special filters and the effect of translucent layers. The final stage of the image creation process is printing . For it use canvas or coated paper with high gloss. After this work, you can demonstrate to the audience. Thanks to the development of nanotechnology, it has become possible to penetrate into the deep world of matter, which has become the subject of creative inspiration for many scientifically savvy artists. NanoArt’s images are very visual and vibrant. We can say that NanoArt is distinguished by a system of artistic-figurative tasks - artistic images will not leave people indifferent with their unique beauty and unusualness.
Chris Orfescu appeared followers, among which the most famous: Alessandro Scali , Renata Spiazzi , Teresa Mayerus , Hitachi . In Russia , Moscow scientist and artist Alexei Derzhavin works in this direction.
