1.5 km from the village there is an airport that connects Lakselv with such cities of the north of Norway as Kirkenes , Tromso , Alta and others. In addition, the European route E06 passes through Lakselv , connecting the city with the south of Norway and also with the city of Kirkenes in the east . There are several shops and supermarkets, as well as 2 hotels. Tourism is developed, connected in summer with salmon fishing, and in winter with skiing.
Since 1981, the head office of the Ságat newspaper (“News”) has been located in Lakselva , the materials of which are largely devoted to Sami topics [2] .
