Charles "Chuck" Wendell Coulson ( Eng. Charles "Chuck" Wendell Colson ; October 16, 1931 , Boston , Massachusetts - April 21, 2012 [1] , Falls Church , Virginia ) - Christian figure, American politician , a former adviser to President Richard Nixon , one of the participants in the Watergate scandal . Founder of the Prison Brotherhood Christian organization. He is the author of more than 30 books, which sold over five million copies.

Biography

Charles Colson was born on October 16, 1931. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and received a doctorate in law. In 1953-1956 he served in the United States Marine Corps . He graduated from the rank of captain. In 1969, he was an assistant to the Nixon presidential election. After Nixon was appointed to the post, he became a special adviser to the president. After the resignation of Nixon, he became one of the participants in the Watergate scandal . In 1975 he was prematurely released. Since 1975, he left politics. In 1976 he founded the Christian organization Prison Brotherhood, which helped prisoners. The author of the book “Conflict of the Kingdoms” (in 1996, the Russian version of Gandalf published it), which is one of the most noteworthy essays on the origin of global conflicts. The book is dedicated to the eternal conflict between the church and the state. According to Colson, such a conflict is inevitable, but sometimes humanity has managed to achieve a balance in this regard. The book is notable for a specific Kolson look at the reasons that caused the Second World War. According to C. Colson, the British and German states, as well as the Anglican and German church, who failed to cope with the management tasks assigned to them by God, are guilty of unfolding the most brutal of wars in the history of mankind. In 2005, he entered the list of 25 most influential American preachers according to Time magazine . In early April 2012, he was hospitalized with a diagnosis of cerebral hemorrhage. Died April 21, 2012 in a hospital in Virginia.
