Jana ишišajova ( Slovakian. Jana Šišajová , February 1, 1985 , Kezmarok , Prešov Region ) is a Slovak nurse who played for the Slovak national team from 2000 to 2010. Participant of two winter Olympic games, multiple medalist of the national championship.

Biography

Yana Shishayova was born on February 1, 1985 in the city of Kezhmarok , Presov region . She began to actively engage in luge at the age of thirteen, in 2000 she was selected for the national team and began to take part in various international starts. In 2004 she made her debut at the European Championships in Oberhof, Germany, showing the fifteenth time. The following season for the first time participated in the races of the World Cup and visited the world championship in American Park City, where she finished twenty-seventh. In the 2005/06 season, she rose to the thirty-second position in the world ranking of the strongest sleds, and closed the top twenty at the European championship in German Winterberg.

After gaining a foothold in the national team, in 2006 Shishayova won the right to defend the country's honor at the Olympic Games in Turin , and finished twenty-second there. Her further performances were held at about the same level, regular hits in the top twenty alternated with unsuccessful arrivals, so the 2006/07 cup season ended for her with twenty-fourth overall. At the 2008 European Championships in Italy, Cesana Shishayova arrived sixteenth, and this is her best result in European championships. While at the world championships in Oberhof was the twenty-first - her best position in world championships.

In the overall standings of the World Cup 2009/10 took twenty-fourth place, and this was enough to get to the Olympic Games in Vancouver . She planned to compete there for a place in the top ten, but after all the races she went down to twenty-seventh place. The last major international competition for her was the European Championship in Latvia's Sigulda, where she showed the eighteenth time. Immediately after this start, Yana Shishayova decided to end the career of a professional athlete, giving way to young Slovak sledges. Now lives in the ski resort of Tatranska Lomnica, where he works as a sports instructor. In her free time she loves to listen to music, dance and travel.
