From the source it flows in a southeasterly direction over the area covered with birch-fir forest; in the middle reaches it is known as Volynskaya [4] [5] . The main tributaries are Peskovka and Znamenka . It falls into the Sea of Okhotsk . Near the mouth of the river lies the village of Lesnoye . The river flows through the Korsakovsky district of the Sakhalin region [6] .
