77th Street ( 77th Street ) is a New York Metro station located on the BMT Fourth Avenue Line . The station is located in Brooklyn , in Bay Ridge County, at the intersection of 77th Street on 4th Avenue . The station is served by a single underground route, R , which operates around the clock.

The station is located on the double-track section of the line and consists of two side platforms. There is a tunnel for an additional path under Bay Ridge . The station was reconstructed in the late 1970s . During this reconstruction, the stairs and platforms were repaired, cosmetic work was carried out. The columns are located on both platforms, all colored yellow. It is interesting that in the center of the station the columns have a cylindrical shape, and at the ends - a square one. Differences emerged during the 1950 platform lengthening. The station is decorated with mosaics.

The station has two exits. The first (main) is represented by a mezzanine above the platforms, where from the last leads one staircase. Turnstiles are located on the mezzanine. Thanks to this arrangement, there is the possibility of free transition between platforms. This exit leads to the southern corners of the intersection of 77th Street from 4th Avenue . Previously, the station’s newsstand and toilets were also located on the mezzanine level. Despite their current absence, some signs indicate their location. The second exit has only the western platform. Here, the exit, unlike the main one, is represented only by turnstiles located at the platform level and by a staircase that leads to the intersection of 76th Street from 4th Avenue . This passage only provides an exit for passengers from the station.
