Dmitry Petrovich Lobanov (born October 12, 1924 ) - Rector of the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute (1964-1988), advisor and mentor and member of the Academic Council of the Russian State Geological Prospecting University . Biography
D. P. Lobanov was born on October 12, 1924 in the Kemerovo Region, into a miner's family.
He was called to the ranks of the Red Army on August 8, 1942 by the Tisulsky RVK of the Kemerovo Region. Participated in hostilities from December 7, 1943. He fought with the rank of junior technician-lieutenant, held the position of technician of the gun ammunition workshop in the composition of the 771 rifle regiment of the 137th rifle "Bobruisk" division . In the division he was responsible for escorting carts with ammunition, operational repair of guns, explaining the rules for handling weapons. C 1943 - candidate member of the CPSU (b). In the battles in the region of Ostrow Mazowiecka (Poland), in the summer of 1944, he repaired the gun while under enemy fire, for which 16.10. 1944 was presented to the Medal for Military Merit. In selfless work during offensive battles in East Prussia receives the Order of the Red Star.
In 1952 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold . After completing postgraduate studies in 1956, he became an associate professor at the Department of Rare and Radioactive Metals Development at the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute . He has become a well-known specialist in the field of geotechnological methods for the development of domestic mineral deposits.
He wrote about 400 scientific papers. From 1964 to 1988 he worked as rector of the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute. In the same place, in 1971, he organized a new department - “ Geotechnologies of ores of rare and radioactive metals”, and managed it until 1991.
Led an active professorship, 50 master's theses and 10 doctoral were defended under his leadership.
