Edward Prokosch ( English Eduard Prokosch ) is a comparativist, Indo-Europeanist and Germanist. Father Frederick Prokosha.

Prokosh was born in Cheb , studied law in Vienna, passed the exam for the right to practice law shortly before emigrating to the United States in 1898.
Prokosz taught German and Germanic studies at a number of American educational institutions, including the University of Chicago , the University of Texas at Austin , the University of Wisconsin at Madison , Bryn Mawr College and New York University .
Prokosh ended his career as a teacher of Germanic languages at Yale University . At this time, he wrote his most important work, "Comparative Grammar of Germanic Languages" ( eng. A Comparative Germanic Grammar ). He died in a car accident shortly before the publication of this grammar.
