Doberman Deka ( ド ー ベ ル マ ン 刑事 do: baruman deka , “Doberman Police Officer”) is a noir manga drawn by Shinji Hiramatsu based on Buronson's story. The manga was published in the weekly magazine Shonen Jump from 1975 (issue 39) to 1979 (issue 48), and amounted to 29 tankobons . Later, the manga was reissued in the format of “Aizoban” and “Bunkoban” (collector's edition) in 18 volumes. Based on Doberman Deka , two feature films and a series were shot. One of the films was directed by Kinji Fukasaku , and Sunny Chiba starred. [one]

The protagonist of the story, detective Jojo Kano ( 加納 錠 治 kano : joji ) , works in the Tokyo Police Special Crime Unit, which specializes in the most dangerous criminal offenses. Kano doesn't care that he and his colleagues are criticized by the media and society. He does not feel pity for the criminals, but he has respect for the elderly and is gentle with children, as well as with former criminals who are trying to atone for past mistakes.
At the beginning of the manga, the only members of the Special Crime Unit are Kano himself and a senior officer Nisitani ( 西 谷 ) , later they are joined by Detective Miyatake ( 武, 武 ) , an organized crime specialist, transferred from Osaka; Detective girl Mimori ( Jap. 三 森 ) , American Judy Therao ( Jap. ジ ュ デ ィ ー 寺 尾 ) .
