He distinguished himself on March 30, 1814 during the defense of Paris, promoted to captain of the National Guard and Knights of the Legion of Honor , then held a small position in the prefecture of the department of the Seine.
After the restoration, the Bourbons began propagating republican views by publishing the opposition newspaper L'Aristarque . After restrictions on freedom of speech caused by the assassination in 1820 of the Duke of Berry, Charles Ferdinand , began to print underground brochures. At the same time, under the guise of Freemasonry, he founded the republican society Amis de la verité . In 1820, he founded, together with Dugier and Joubert, the Union of Carbonaries in France, which in 1821 totaled more than 200 thousand members.
He participated in the uprisings in Colmar and Belfort , was sentenced in absentia to death, hiding. In 1825 he joined the Sensimonists , wrote articles for the Producteur newspaper under the pseudonym Saint-Aman, and soon became an informal intellectual leader of society. In 1828 he lectured in Paris on the teachings of Saint-Simon. On the basis of these lectures, he wrote his main work, The exposition de la doctrine de Saint-Simon , 2 vols., 1828-30; new edition of Paris, 1854, the second part was written mainly by B P. Anfantenom ).
After the death of Saint-Simon in 1825, the leadership of the Sensimonist school passed to Olind Rodrigue , who was the closest student of the count. However, he gradually retired, and by 1829 the school was headed by Bazar and his regular opponent, Barthelemy Prosper Anfanten . Bazar and his followers believed that Anfanten misinterprets the principles of collectivism, and his teaching on marriage is immoral and harmful. In November 1831, a split occurred in the Sensimonist movement, after which Bazar stopped participating in it, leaving the community along with 19 active members.
