Biography

Ivan Menzheritsky was born on April 12, 1937 in Moscow. At first he worked as a journalist, later switched to cinema and television.

The first documentary film “Carnations Need Lovers” according to his script was released in 1964. The author of the scripts of many Soviet films and television series.

For several years he was chairman of the Moscow Writers Committee.

Since the 1990s, he lived in New York. For several years he collaborated with the film company 20th Century Fox , was the producer of several films. In total, he participated in the creation of more than one hundred feature films, television, documentaries and popular science films. He worked as a program director and TV presenter of the American Russian-language television and radio company WMNB.

Since 2002, he has focused on creating prose fiction; wrote stories, novels, novels. Four books were published: “When will we get married, Vanechka?”, “To jail for dancing by invitation cards”, “Autumn at Marinpark” and “To heaven on a hearse”.

He died in New York on April 16, 2012 after a long illness, buried at Ocean View Cemetery. [1]
