The name comes from Khreshchaty Yar, which in turn acquired the name from the side Yars, which were “crossed”.
Description
It starts not far from the European Square from several sources, then flows through the Khreshchatyk basin and flows into Clov on the Bessarabsky Square . There was a small reservoir on the Kreshchatyk Square. Also the reservoir - the Bessarabian basin - existed on the square of the same name.
Back in the 1930s, Khreshchatyk, one of the first rivers in the city, was taken to the collector along its entire length.
