Hagagortyan, Edward Aramovich

Edward Aramovich Hagagortyan ( Armenian Էդուարդ Արամի Խաղագործյան ; July 15, 1930 , Tbilisi - January 3, 1983 ) was a Soviet Armenian composer and musical public figure who made a great contribution to the musical culture of the Soviet Union [2] . The author of music to many films.

Biography

Born in 1930 in Tbilisi, mother - Arfenya Eyramdzhan. Great grandson of Gazaros Aghayan . A cousin of director Anatoly Eyramdzhan [3] . Wife - Amalia Arshakovna Hagagortyan.

At the music school, he learned to play the violin, he entered the Yerevan Conservatory , where he studied composition with Grigory Yeghizaryan . After graduation in 1955, he entered the Moscow Conservatory as a graduate student from Aram Khachaturian [2] .

Khagagortyan entered the Union of Composers of the USSR in 1964, after 1970 he became a member of the board. Since 1973, he served as Deputy Chief Editor of the Soviet Composer Publishing House. In 1979 he received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR [2] .

Professionally interested in folk music, made a few notes; his compositional style was also influenced by folklore [2] .

He died in January 1983. He was buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery . Next to him was buried the daughter Narine - a composer, a graduate of the theoretical faculty of the Moscow State Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky , who died in 2000.
