Biography
Claudia’s mother was a teacher, and her father worked as a dentist. Claudia’s parents were Catholic, but over time they left the church because of a number of ideological convictions. After graduating from high school, Claudia wanted to get an education and work in the theater field. To do this, she goes to Munich, but after studying for two semesters, drop out of school. After that, Claudia briefly works in the theaters of Memmingen , Dortmund , Unna . In 1982-1984, Roth was the manager of the rock band Ton Steine Scherben .
In 1971–1990, Claudia Roth was a member of the Young Democrats . In 1985-1989, Roth worked as a press secretary for the Parliamentary Green Group. In 1987, Claudia Roth joined the Green Party. In 1989-1998, Claudia Roth was a member of the European Parliament and in 1994-1998 she headed the Green faction. Mouth worked in the European Parliament on the committee on internal affairs and civil liberties and on the committee on foreign affairs. In addition, she was vice-president of the Turkey-EU Parliamentary Committee. In 1994, Parliament adopted its proposal on the recognition of equal rights for homosexuals. Another task of her work was the struggle for the rights of the Kurdish minority in Turkey.
In 1998, Claudia Roth was first elected to the Bundestag . In the Bundestag, Roth became the chair of the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid.
In 2001, Claudia Roth was elected co-chairman of the Green Party and transferred her deputy mandate to Gerald Hefner. In 2002, Roth re-joined the Bundestag, where he serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee and the United Nations Subcommittee.
From March 2003 to October 2004, Roth was the authorized representative of the federal government for human rights and humanitarian aid in the second office of Gerhard Schröder .
On May 23, 2003, a party referendum was held on the possibility of combining the positions of co-chairman of the party and deputy of the Bundestag. Most of the referendum participants were in favor of allowing the co-chairman of the party to have a deputy mandate. In October 2004, Claudia Roth was re-elected as co-chairman of the Union 90 / Green party with a score of 77.8% of the vote. The mouth was reelected on December 2, 2006 with a score of 66%, November 15, 2008 with a score of 82.7% and November 20, 2010 with a score of 79.3% of the vote. Claudia Roth is the absolute champion among the co-chairs of the Union 90 / Green Party for her leadership.
Claudia Roth is also known for her personal participation in demonstrations for tolerance towards homosexuals - the gay parade in Warsaw and the Christopher Street Day in Dresden. Claudia Roth was a member of the Board of Trustees of the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup . In addition, she is a member of the German Football Academy .
