Burnin ' , starting with Get Up Stand Up, a call to action, holds a more confrontational and warlike tone than previous albums. This is the last album recorded as part of Marley - Tosh - Weiler . Peter Tosh and Bunny Weiler leave the band and begin a solo career, and The Wailers change their name to Bob Marley & The Wailers .
The song “I Shot The Sheriff”, rewritten by Eric Clapton and included in the album 461 Ocean Boulevard , took 1st place in the Billboard Hot 100 [4] . The album itself took # 151st position on Billboard's Pop Albums and # 41st position on Billboard's Black Albums.
In 2003, Burnin took 319th position on the Rolling Stone magazine's list of 500 greatest albums of all time . In 2007, the album was listed on the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress for its historical and cultural significance [5] .
