Do not touch Me ( lat. Noli me tangere , Greek Μή μου ἅπτου ) - the gospel story describing the first appearance of Christ after the Resurrection to Mary Magdalene , who, thus, was the first to see the resurrected Savior . He told her: “Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go unto my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and unto my God and your God ” ( John 20: 11-17 ).
The plot was used to write the icons “Do not Touch Me” (in Europe “Noli me tangere” ), in which Mary Magdalene is depicted holding out her hands to Christ , and also, necessarily, the walls of Heavenly Jerusalem .

Interpretation
According to the Swiss Catholic theologian Maurice Zundel (1897-1975), asking Mary Magdalene not to touch him, Jesus indicates that after the resurrection, the connection between Him and people should no longer be physical, but will become spiritual. Similarly, later, when Thomas extended his hand to touch His wounds, Jesus told him: “You believed because you saw Me; blessed are they that have not seen and believed ”( John 20:29 ) [1] .
