History
In 2006 , after Tonar’s CTO Yuri Weinstein visited the factories of the American company Freightliner , it was decided to develop his own truck. [1] It took four years to test and by 2010, machines with a 6 × 4 wheel arrangement ( Tonar-6428 , Tonar-6528 ) were presented . [1] The first show of these machines took place at the end of 2008, and by the beginning of 2010 “type approval” was received for them. As well as on the biaxial version of the Tonar-5422, previously not shown. In the summer of that year, Tonar-6428 cars participated in the Moscow - Vladivostok rally, [2] and in the fall their serial production began. Sales to customers have been ongoing since the beginning of 2011. [3]
Device
The car has a MAN F2000 cab, which is currently licensed in China by Shaanxi . [4] A plastic bumper with Chinese-made rectangular headlights is installed on the cab, which is planned to be replaced soon with an iron counterpart. [four]
When choosing a power unit, Cummins motors were initially considered, which equipped some of the very first machines. [1] Subsequently, due to problems with spare parts, it was abandoned and the cars began to be equipped with the YaMZ-650 engine (working volume - 11.1 liters, environmental standard - Euro 3 , power - 412 hp, torque - 1870 N · M) produced in Yaroslavl by agreement between YMZ and Renault Trucks . The suspension design was based on the American Freightliner counterparts with minor changes to the springs. [four]
The transmission is 12-speed, manufactured by Shaanxi , the drive axles are Handle Axle , the tires are Linglong , the frame is Tonar's own production. [one]
