Maria Nikolaevna Grinchenko gave several successful lyric plays (under the pseudonym of M. Zagirnya), but then she devoted herself entirely to popularization and translations. She wrote popular brochures in Ukrainian and others, translated into Ukrainian a number of Ibsen's dramas (“Pillars of Society”, “Ghosts”, “Nora”), “The Death of Sodom” by Zuderman, Andersen’s fairy tales, and others. In 1910–1918 supervised the Boris Grinchenko Publishing House. She was a member-editor of the commission of the Ukrainian Living Language Dictionary (1919). I presented the library of Boris Grinchenko to the IUAN, to which I compiled a two-volume catalog.

Biography
Maria Gladilina was born on June 13, 1863 in Bogodukhov [1] .
In 1881 she graduated from the Bogodukhov gymnasium and began working as a teacher in a local school [1] .
In 1883, she studied at the summer teacher training courses of public teachers in Zmiev [1] . There she met her future husband Boris Grinchenko [1] .
The following year, 1884, Boris Grinchenko and Maria Gladilina got married [1] . Since then, they have worked together.
In 1887, Greenchins moved to the Yekaterinoslav district in the village of Alekseyevka (now Perevalsky district, Lugansk region).
Maria Nikolaevna Grinchenko died July 15, 1928 and was buried in Kiev at the Baikovo cemetery next to her husband, daughter, and grandson.

Husband - Boris Dmitrievich Grinchenko - Ukrainian writer, scientist, translator, public and political figure.
Daughter - Anastasia Borisovna Grinchenko (1884-1907) - also a writer who died early from consumption, quickly developed after her arrest in the case of the “Peasant Union” in 1905, A. B. Grinchenko gave a number of translations: “The Adventures of Heck Grinn” M. Twain, The Lights of Ivan's Night by Suderman, Gedda Gubler by Ibsen, etc.
