It begins in a birch forest on the slope of Mount Krestyanskaya [3] . It flows in a general southerly direction [3] , only in the lower reaches turning to the west [4] . The middle reaches of the valley are occupied by larch forests [3] . It falls into the Tatar Strait [4] on the territory of the village of Ilyinsky [4] .
It flows through the territory of the Tomarinsk city district of the Sakhalin region .
