Kiryanov, Igor Konstantinovich

As a student at Perm State University, he repeatedly participated in archaeological and ethnographic expeditions; in 1976, together with P. Yu. Pavlov, he opened an outstanding early Mesolithic monument - the Gornaya Talitsa parking lot on the river. Chusovoy . In 1980 he graduated from the Faculty of History; from the same year, he has been working at the Department of History of the USSR (the latest history of Russia), since 2000 he has headed it. In 1981-1983 he worked as a freelance employee of the Khokhlovka Museum of History and Architecture.

From 1990 to 2018 - dean of the historical (from 1996 - historical and political science) faculty. Under the leadership of I.K. Kiryanov, the faculty survived in the unfavorable economic conditions of the 1990s and significantly strengthened its position during the stabilization of the 2000s. Here, for the first time in Russia in 1996, on the basis of the classical history faculty, the specialty "Political Science" was opened, then in 2005 - "State and Municipal Administration" and since 2011 - "International Relations".

In 1988 he defended his dissertation “Evolution of the public consciousness of the peasantry of the Urals during the period of capitalism: 1861 - February 1917 (based on materials from the Vyatka and Perm provinces)”, in 2009 - his doctoral dissertation “Russian parliamentarians of the early XX century: new politicians in the new political space ". Member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation for History (2013—2018); Member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Vestnik of Perm University. Ser. "Story"".

Laureate of the Perm Territory Prize in the field of science (2006). It is a member of the Academic Council of the Perm Museum of Local Lore and the Joint Scientific Council of the Regional State Archives. In 2009, he was elected a member of the Public Chamber of the Perm Territory, in 2012-2013 - Chairman of the OPPK. In 2018, he headed the Department for the Study of Political Institutions and Processes of the PFIC of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

Research interests: political history of Russia and historical informatics . He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications.
