History
The first mention of Cape Valtu dates back to 1412. In 1588-1828 it was owned by the Tizengauzen , then the Stackelbergs , Ungern von Sternbergs , and Maideli . At one time it was a famous work of Estonian classicism . [one]
The main building (manor house) was burned during peasant unrest in 1905 ; its ruins and homestead have been preserved, and some outbuildings have been restored.
In 1815, a Dutch windmill was built near the main building of the manor.
Two houses serving the manor [2] [3] , a wine cellar [4] and a mill [5] are entered in the State Register of Cultural Monuments of Estonia.
