Dragoslav Srejovic , Serb. Dragoslav Sreјoviћ ( October 8, 1931 , Kragujevac - November 29, 1996 , Belgrade ) - Serbian historian, researcher of the prehistoric era, academician of the Serbian Academy of Sciences.

Biography
Born in Kragujevac , where he graduated from elementary school and gymnasium. In 1954 he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Belgrade with a degree in archeology, and in 1958 he was elected to the post of assistant at the Department of Archeology of the same faculty. In the same place in 1964 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Neolithic and Eneolithic anthropomorphic plastic in Yugoslavia" ( 1964 ). In 1965 he was appointed assistant professor of prehistoric archeology, in 1970 - an extraordinary professor, in 1976 - a full professor.
He led the excavations of 67 prehistoric and ancient monuments in Serbia , Bosnia and Montenegro ( Duklja , Srebrenica , Lepenski Vir , Vlasac , Divostin , Gamzigrad , Sharkamen , etc.). Published over 200 works both in Yugoslavia and abroad. For the book “Lepenski Vir” received the Belgrade October Prize ( sr: Oktobarska Prize ) 1970
In 1974 he was elected a corresponding member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and in 1983 - an academician. Since 1989, he was the director of the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and since 1994, he was the deputy chairman of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
He was an open homosexual [2] .
He died on November 29, 1996 in Belgrade. He was buried on December 3 in Kragujevac. After his death, the Dragoslaw Srejovic Foundation was founded to stimulate fundamental research projects. The donors of the fund are both business organizations and cultural and scientific institutions. [3] .
Streets named in his honor were named. Belgrade and Novi Sad .
