Biography
Valentina Aleksandrovna Agaltsova was born in the village of Petrovo in the Istra district of the Moscow region on July 23, 1935 in a family of teachers. My father taught mathematics, my mother was a teacher of elementary grades, later she taught Russian language and literature. Grandfather served as a priest in a church in with. Pokrovsky. During the Great Patriotic War, little Valya was so weakened from hunger that her body was covered with ulcers, and she could not move independently. Despite the grave condition, she survived.
Living in Bolshevo, near Moscow (now within the city of Korolev ), in 1952 she graduated from school. Initially, she wanted to enter the Faculty of Geography at Moscow State University , but because of a sore heart and the distance of her upcoming trips, she abandoned this idea.
The nearest institute was Forestry, in neighboring Mytishchi . During the open door trip, she liked the Institute, and Agaltsova entered the Faculty of Gardening of Cities and Towns, which was opened in 1947 in support of the Great Stalinist Plan for the Transformation of Nature .
