Biography

Fedor Boriskin was born in April 1909 in the village of Korino (now Shatkovsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region ) into a peasant family. Received primary education, worked on the farm . In 1933 he moved with his family to Central Asia , worked at construction sites, was the foreman of masons and plasterers. In 1938 he returned to his native village, worked on a collective farm. Since 1940, he lived in the village of Zeleny Gorodok in the Pervomaisky district of the Gorky region, was a cabman. In April 1941 he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army by the Pervomaisky District Military Commissariat . From the same year - on the fronts of World War II. Participated in battles near Leningrad , was wounded three times. By September 1943, Corporal Fedor Boriskin was the gunner of the 1129th Infantry Regiment of the 337th Infantry Division of the 40th Army of the Voronezh Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper and the liberation of Ukraine [1] .

On September 18, 1943, during the battle for the liberation of the city of Lubny, Poltava region , Boriskin was one of the first in his unit to break into the city, set up a machine gun on its main street and destroy German soldiers and officers near a platoon, which ensured advance of the infantry units. He also participated in forcing the Dnieper south of Kiev , providing the crossing of Soviet units. During the battles on the western bank of the Dnieper, he personally destroyed a German machine gun and sniper . In November 1943, he went missing; according to some reports, he died on November 22, 1943 south of the city of Bila Tserkva in the Kiev region . In the 1960s, was recounted as deceased [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 13, 1943, Corporal Fedor Boriskin was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal [1] for "courage and heroism shown during crossing the Dnieper and holding the bridgehead " [1] .

The name of Boriskin was assigned to a school in the village of Zeleny Gorodok [1] .
