Vazha Shotaevich Okitashvili (born July 17, 1952 , Tbilisi ) - Russian artist, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2017) [1] , full member of the Russian Academy of Arts since 2013 [2] , member of the Creative Union of Russian Artists since 2000 [3 ] .

Biography
Born in 1952 in Tbilisi. First introduced to painting in the company of his uncle, self-taught artist Mikhail Sologashvili.
In the 1990s, he worked at the Georgian Designers Union in Tbilisi. In 1992 he moved to Moscow.
Since 1993, he participated in many projects: Poklonnaya Gora, Manezhnaya Square, a monument to Peter I in Moscow, the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the construction of the "crystal" chapel of Alexander Nevsky.
Since 2000 he has been working at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art . In the same year he joined the Creative Union of Russian Artists and began to take an active part in various exhibitions. He was awarded the TLC Bronze (2009), Silver (2010) and Gold (2011) medals for his contribution to national culture.
In 2011, he became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, and in 2013 he was elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, as well as a member of the International Federation of Artists.
Works as a graphic artist and painter. Member of numerous group and personal exhibitions. Awarded with many awards. Thanks to the Russian Academy of Arts.
The artist’s works are in museum and private collections in Russia and abroad.
Lives and works in Moscow.
