Biography
Alan Jardine was born on September 3, 1942 in Lima (pieces of Ohio). The family moved to San Francisco, and then to Hawthorne (California), where at school Jardine met Brian Wilson . Together with him and his brothers - Dennis and Carl Wilson , as well as their cousin Mike Love, Jardine created the band The Beach Boys and participated in the first recording of the band - the song "Surfin '" (October 1961; Jardine played the double bass ). Soon, however, Jardine left The Beach Boys, settling down to work in an aviation company. In the summer of 1963, at the request of Brian Wilson, Jardine returned to the band (the duties of the guitarist during his absence were performed by David Marks ).
In The Beach Boys, Jardine mostly played rhythm guitar and often played leading vocals (Help Me, Rhonda, Then I Kissed Her, Cotton Fields, Come Go With Me, etc.). Since the late 1960s. Jardine's songs began to appear on the albums of the band (“Wake the World”, “California Saga: California”, “Lady Lynda”, etc.). In 1978, Jardine co-produced the album MIU Album . In 1982, on the initiative of Jardin, California Dreamin ' was recorded (the single with the song was released in 1986), which became one of the last hits of The Beach Boys.
