Biography
Born on December 8 (21), 1908 , (according to other sources, November 25 ( December 8 ), 1908 [1] ), in p. Bloor Surmalinsky County Erivan Province ( Russian Empire ), now with. Enginalan Igdir silt ( Turkey ).
In 1930 he graduated from the Musical College at the Moscow Conservatory , in 1935 - the Moscow Conservatory (class composition N. Ya. Myaskovsky ).
In 1936 - 1938, he was a teacher and head of the school of music in Leninakan .
From 1938 he lived in Yerevan, where he taught composition at a music school and taught the Yerevan Conservatoire a class of instrumentation (from 1959 - professor ). In 1954 - 1960 - rector of the Yerevan Conservatory.
In 1953 - 1957 - Chairman of the Union of Composers of the Armenian SSR .
He died on November 4, 1988 in Yerevan . Buried in Tokhmah cemetery.
