History
For the first time a trolley bus appeared on the streets of Kostroma in test mode on November 4, 1973 . The trolleybus followed from the trolleybus park along Mira Avenue to the intersection with Knyazev Street, where the turning circle was located. Then the trolley bus went back to the depot along Prospekt Mira. These were the first trolleybus flights that were conducted to train future drivers. Initially, the practice took place in Yaroslavl, later, with the opening of the test ring, it was transferred to Kostroma. The first director and founder was Alexander N. Kozlov. The construction was carried out with the active assistance of the chairman of the city council Vitaly Fedotovich Shirokov , who held this post in 1960-1970. The square near the railway station (station " Kostroma New "), which is now the turning circle for the trolleybus route No. 2 , is named in his honor.

Trolleybus Depot
The trolleybus depot in Kostroma is located at the intersection of Mira Avenue and Pushkin Street. Entry and exit from the depot is carried out from different gates. So, departure from the park is carried out on Pushkin Street (in both directions), and entry only when a trolleybus passes on the reversal ring, from where the connecting line departs. On the territory of the depot there is a control building and boxes for trolley buses (6). Mostly cars are settled on the street. In recent years, there has been a positive trend in the development of trolleybus communication. More and more new trolley buses appear in the depot, as a result of which it became possible to open a new (or more precisely canned) route No. 5, as well as No. 9, 11 and 12. At the moment, there are also public buses.

Interesting Facts
- In the trolley buses there is a plate with the number 1K and 3K (it follows to the Mkrn. Chernorechye, and not to the settlement of Oktyabrsky), these flights were carried out in the early 2010s in the evening rush hour one way (“Microdistrict Panovo - Microdistrict Chernorechye”) ( Banner of Labor - Microdistrict Chernorechye), from Chernorechye cars followed route 7 and route 2.
- Trolleybus No. 9 was commissioned at the request of the inhabitants of Mira Avenue. From there, there really is no direct connection with the residential district of Panovo (except for bus number 15, which has one common stop (Kalinovsky market) with routes of trolley buses No. 2 and No. 9).
- Back in the 1980s, a line was built along Zavolzhskaya Street along the Panovo district. For some time, trolley bus number 8 ran along it. Now this branch is conserved and not used. From October 1, 2016, the line to the Worker's Metalworker plant along the streets of Yermakov, Stopani, Golubkov, Belenogov, Zavolzhskaya, Yaroslavskaya and Moscow streets was also shut down; thus, the route movement beyond the Volga remained only in the microdistrict of Panovo.
- The turning ring of trolley buses No. 4 and 5 "Metalworker" in pictures from the satellite and on the maps can be seen as the exact outline of the number 4 [ significance of fact? ] .
- Some trolley buses of route No. 2 in the summer of 2012 in the forward direction (Trolleybus depot - Shirokov Square) instead of Prospect Mira followed Lenin Street (route No. 7), although these flights were not announced.
- In 2018, the MUP KostromaGortrans merged with the Trolleybus depot and a new name, Trolleybus Management, appeared. Buses from Kostroma Horstrans migrated to the Depot and it bore fruit! Trolleybus management after the merger began to get out of debt for electricity. There was a reorganization of employees of enterprises and the park began to work on the result.
