Mike Love ( born Mike Love , full name Michael Edward Love ; born March 15, 1941) is an American musician, primarily known as the vocalist and songwriter of the rock band The Beach Boys .

Biography
Mike Love was born March 15, 1941 in Los Angeles in the family of Edwin and Emily Loves. His mother was the sister of Merry Wilson - the father of Brian , Dennis and Karl Wilson - who became members of The Beach Boys, organized by their father in 1961. Mike Love became the lead vocalist in the group, as well as co-author (along with Brian Wilson) of most of The Beach Boys. Occasionally, Love also played musical instruments (saxophone, keyboards). Love became the cause of antagonism between him and other members of the group several times over the musical development of the collective, holding more conservative views. Love became one of the first pop musicians to practice transcendental meditation ; in 1968, he visited the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Indian Training Center (along with The Beatles ) and, upon returning, persuaded The Beach Boys to invite Maharishi to a joint tour of the United States. In the following years, Love continued to practice transcendental meditation and wrote a series of songs dedicated to her by The Beach Boys. Since the second half of the 1970s. worked on solo albums, but not one of the works of those years was published. In 1981, the first solo album “Looking Back with Love” was released. Subsequently, Love preferred to participate in joint projects than solo.
