History
On April 28, 1914, the Holy See issued a decree “Ne adversis” , which established the Apostolic Prefecture of Djibouti, separating it from the Apostolic Vicariate of Galla (today the Apostolic Vicariate of Harare ).
On February 13, 1925, Pope Pius XI published the Ex hac divi log , which he added to the apostolic prefecture of Djibouti, part of the territory of the apostolic vicariate of Galla.
On March 25, 1937, Pope Pius XI issued the bull Quo in Praefectura , which limited the territory of the Diocese of Djibouti to the border of modern Somalia.
On September 14, 1955, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Dum tantis , which transformed the apostolic prefecture into a diocese.
