| While in southern exile, in May 1823 in Odessa, Pushkin began to work on the novel in verse “Eugene Onegin” and wrote the first three chapters. The central chapters of the novel were written by the poet in Mikhailovsky in 1824–1826, the novel was completed in 1831. The real Russian life is embodied in the novel “Eugene Onegin” with such creative force and completeness, which did not happen before Pushkin. The poet recreated the way of the metropolitan and provincial nobility, the way of life and the spiritual composition of the “typical” hero, putting along with him a type of positive and undeniable beauty in the face of the Russian woman Tatiana. The Russian critic V. G. Belinsky called the novel "Eugene Onegin" an "encyclopedia of Russian life." | ||

| Moscow and Petersburg occupy a special place in the life of Pushkin. In Moscow, the poet was born and spent the early years of his life, constantly returning to it throughout his life. Moscow enthusiastically met Pushkin, freed by the king from exile in Mikhailovsky, here at the ball he first met the beautiful Natalia Goncharova, whom he married in 1831. In 1880, one of the best monuments to Pushkin was erected in Strastny Boulevard in Moscow. At the end of the lyceum, the poet's life is connected with Petersburg. The circle of his acquaintances and connections was extremely extensive and varied - the poets Zhukovsky and Griboyedov, the philosopher Chaadaev, the historian Karamzin, the composer Glinka, and others. In St. Petersburg, the poet was mortally wounded in a duel. According to the testimony of a contemporary, from the time of Pushkin’s death until the transfer of his ashes to the church in his house, up to 50 thousand Petersburgers of all classes had visited. Pushkin's tragic death shook Russia. | ||
