Career
Club career
Monnet began his career at the Martigny Club, for which he played from 1997 to 1999 in the Swiss League B. Then he spent one year at Lausanne . The 2000/01 season debuted for Monnet in Swiss League A. Thibault fought for survival with his club La Chaux-de-Fonds , but nevertheless left the elite. At the end of the season, Monnet was recognized as the best rookie of the league.
He spent the next two seasons at Friborg-Gotteron . Since the 2003/04 season, Monnet has played for the Langnau Tigers . At the end of the 2004/05 season, he left the Tigers and signed a contract with the Bern club. Monne did not have a career for the “capital”: in 44 matches he scored only 17 (8 + 9) points. At the end of the season he returned to Friborg.
From the 2007/08 season Monnet has been playing for Zurich . In his first season for the “lions" he became the champion of Switzerland. He also set his personal best performance record, scoring 50 games and 43 productive points. The following year, Monnet together with the club won the Champions League , defeating Magnitogorsk Metallurg in the final - 5-0 [1] . In the final, Thibault twice assisted partners [2] . In the 2011/12 season, Monnet became the two-time Swiss champion [3] . Thibault unsuccessfully spent the regular season, gaining only 21 points in 45 matches, but he shockly held the playoffs , where he scored 13 scoring points in 15 games.
International Career
As part of the Swiss national team, Monnet played at two junior ( 1999 , 2000) and two youth world championships ( 2001 , 2002 ). Three times he and the team played in matches for third place, but he never won a medal.
Monne played for the main team at seven consecutive world championships : 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 . He also participated in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver [4] .
