David Karsten Daniels is an American songwriter . Born in Lubbock ( Texas ) on August 20, 1979 [1] . He spent his early years in Montgomery (Alabama) , Princeton (New Jersey) and Dallas , and sang in school and church choirs. At college, Daniels majored in composing music and played double bass in a symphony orchestra. After receiving a bachelor's degree at Southern Methodist University , the musician moved to Chapel Hill (North Carolina) , where the Bu_Hanan Collective group was formed, which in addition to David included his long-time friends Daniel Hart and Alex Lazar [1] . In 2006, Daniels signed to the British label Fat Cat Records , which released the album Sharp Teeth . It was followed in 2008 by Fear of Flying ; the work contained reflections on death and the afterlife. His most recent album, I Mean to Live Here Still (2010), is a song cycle to the verses of Henry David Thoreau , set to music by Daniels; the songs were performed by him to the accompaniment of Fight the Big Bull, noneta from Richmond (Virginia) [2] . Currently, the musician lives in Dallas.
