Biography

Vladimir Sinyavsky was born in 1932 at the Zinkovsky farm. In 1948 he moved to Kharkov , entered the Vocational School at the Electromechanical Plant, graduated from it and began working at the plant. During his studies, twice unsuccessfully (due to age) he tried to enroll in the wrestling section. Nevertheless, in 1950, he nevertheless ended up with coach Viktor Mikhailovich Verigin and six months later he received 1st rank, having won the Kharkov championship in classical wrestling , and then was drafted into the army. At the championship of the Kiev military district, Armenak Yaltyryan , a multiple champion of the USSR, one of the founders of free-style wrestling in the USSR, drew attention to a young wrestler. On his advice, Vladimir Sinyavsky moved to the "wrestlers". To demobilize, Sinyavsky moved to Kiev , where at first he even lived with Yaltyryan, studying at the preparatory department of the Institute of Physical Education.

In 1954, took 4th place in the USSR championship, in 1955 5th place, in 1956 took 4th place at the Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR

In 1956 , having won the USSR team championship, he became a master of sports . In 1957 he won the competitions that were held at the Moscow Festival of Youth and Students and in the same year he won the international tournament in Iran and the championship of the USSR. For the next two years, he also becomes the champion of the USSR, and in 1959 in Tehran he becomes the world champion, putting out all rivals [1] .

In 1960, he was only the second at the USSR Championship, but was included in the Olympic team and at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome he fought in the weight category up to 57 kilograms (light weight). The winner of the tournament was determined by the number of penalty points at the end of the tournament, penalty points were awarded to the fighter in any case, except for a clear victory, since victory by decision of the judges brought 1 penalty point, loss by decision of the judges 3 penalty points. The participant who scored 6 penalty points dropped out of the tournament.

In battles:

  • in the first round, by a decision of the judges, he defeated Jan Kuzzynski ( Poland ), receiving 1 penalty point;
  • in the second round, at 9 minutes, he stewed Dulu Tota ( Hungary );
  • in the third round, by a decision of the judges, he won against Enyu Volchev ( Bulgaria ), having received 1 penalty point;
  • in the fourth round, by a decision of the judges, he lost to Shelby Wilson , the future Olympic champion, ( USA ), having received 3 penalty points;
  • in the fifth round, at 8 minutes, Garibaldo Nicezzola ( Italy ) was extinguished ;
  • did not participate in the final round.

Having scored 5 penalty points, he took second place. [2]

On the manner of the struggle of V. Sinyavsky:

He participated in competitions until 1966 , but after 1961, when he took second place at the World Cup and won the USSR championship, without striking success (fighting in the category of up to 70 kilograms, he took 5th place in 1962 and 4th place in 1966 in the championships USSR, 4th place in 1963 at the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR) [4] . He died on December 27, 2012. He was buried in the Kiev city cemetery (Berkovtsy).
